Tamanalevu believes that doctors from NZ were the healing hands of God that treated her daughter

It was not easy for Kiti Tamanalevu to see her 2-month daughter, Litia Cocala, suffer from Rheumatic heart disease but she believes that God would provide a healing hand for her daughter.

The 40-year-old mother says prayers and fasting for 2 years were finally answered after being told by doctors at the CWM Hospital that there is a foundation in Suva that provides free heart surgeries.

Tamanalevu says they managed to book her daughter's name at Sai Sajeevani Children's Heart Hospital and while waiting for the confirmation call in their village at Naiborebore, Tailevu, she nearly lost hope.

She says after receiving the confirmation call from the Children's Heart Hospital, she was hopeful.

The mother adds Litia managed to get her operation done last Sunday by a team of doctors from New Zealand and believes that they were the healing hands of God in the children's hospital in Nasese.

She was discharged today from the hospital.

The Tamanalevu family has acknowledged what the hospital has done to their family and also thanked the doctors and nurses who gave their lives to save a life.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation Board Ajay Bhai Amrit says more important nowadays is early detection.
