An 11 year old student is dead after being hit by a vehicle and police have now mounted a search for the driver who failed to stop after the incident in Tacirua this morning.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the class 6 student of Tacirua Bhartiye School was crossing road when the vehicle hit him and did not stop.
Sokomuri said they are now urging members of the public for more information on the whereabouts of the white utility van which was involved in the accident.
The road death toll now stands at 18 compared to 22 last year.
