Vulnerable people living in State care homes have been assisted in enhancing the safety and security of their environment as the Fiji Chemicals Ltd has donated 100 termite baits.
Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran says the Ministry is responsible for the care and protection of some of the most vulnerable members of the society — elderly residents in Golden Age Homes, children in orphanages, and women seeking refuge in shelters.
She says the impact of termite infestation in these institutions is not only a matter of property damage; it’s a matter of dignity, safety, and wellbeing.
While thanking Fiji Chemicals, Kiran says these termite baits and traps will be deployed to Golden Age Homes in Suva, Lautoka, and Labasa; to orphanages like St Mina’s Home, Veilomani Boys Home, and St Christopher’s Home; as well as to women’s shelters across Fiji.
