There are still one or two little things that we can tweak and hopefully we can build on from that performance against New Zealand last week.

Those were the words of Springboks’ number 8 Duane Vermeulen as he reflected on his team’s performance against the All Blacks last Saturday.

Vermeulen says their record-breaking 35-7 win over New Zealand has already been put behind them, with their focus now firmly on Scotland, who they face in their Rugby World Cup opener next month.

He says they wanted to lay a marker down going into the World Cup and they wanted to show each other what lies inside every single person.

He adds they made mistakes against New Zealand and there were a few things that did not go their way and discipline was one of them.

Vermeulen says there's still a lot in the tank and they have got to prepare well for their first game against Scotland which is where all their focus is on now.

Vermeulen further says the win over the All Blacks was one step in the right direction.

The Springboks will take on Scotland at 3.45am on the 11th of next month.
