SODELPA General Secretary, Viliame Takayawa

SODELPA General Secretary, Viliame Takayawa has revealed that some senior people from SODELPA tried to sabotage their management board meeting last week, and there are some who are trying to defect from SODELPA and join the People’s Alliance and hope that SODELPA gets dissolved.

Takayawa has told fijivillage News that their management board members were being called not to attend the meeting which was supposed to discuss issues about the AGM, the party leader’s appointment, the party’s constitution and the issue regarding SODELPA MP, Aseri Radrodro.

He says there was talk from last year to fade out the party, and they are here to ensure the party does not fade away.

Takayawa adds most of the people have resigned.

He says they are contacting the management board members to find out the reason why they did not attend the meeting last Friday.

Takayawa also says that Radrodro has stated that he can continue as a MP for the next 6 months or two years after his removal from cabinet.

When contacted by fijivillage News, Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka says he does not know of any plans for SODELPA members to defect from SODELPA and join the People’s Alliance.
