There are revelations today that a group of civil servants who are members of the Fiji Public Service Association are now gathering signatures for a petition to seek the removal of their General Secretary, Rajeshwar Singh.
Permanent Secretary for Information, Sharon Smith-Johns said she cannot reveal the names of the members however she said this action is now underway as the members who met her are unhappy with Singh's meetings with the Australian and NZ unions.
Rajeshwar Singh who is still overseas said if some FPSA members want him out then they should follow the procedures under the Association's constitution to take that step.
Singh said he will not step down and wants to know the names of the FPSA members who want him out.
Smith-Johns said Singh should find out from his own members.
Meanwhile Singh clarified that the purchase price of the union vehicle, the BMW X5 he drives, is less than half the figure claimed.
He told the ABC that the members had approved the purchase of the vehicle.
The ABC also questioned Singh on whether he is paid $200,000 as claimed by the civil servant group that met with Smith-Johns.
The FPSA group is also expected to hold a meeting soon and then write a letter to the Prime Minister.
Singh said they should take the matter to the Association under the constitution.
