Significant increase in annual enrolment rates as Government continues investment in education sector

The Education Ministry has seen significant increases being made to annual enrolment rates as the Fijian Government continues to invest in the education sector.

Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar says from 2014, they had a year on, year average increase in enrolment of girls at a rate of three percent each year.

She also highlighted since the inception of free early childhood education, enrolment rates have surged from 1000 preschool enrolments to over 19,000.

Akbar says by opening the doors to education, they have seen a continuous increase of one percent annually in primary and secondary school enrolment.
