Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran

Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran has stressed that the review and validation of the Service Delivery Protocol ensures no gender based violence survivor is left without support.

Kiran highlighted this at the Service Delivery Protocol Validation Workshop at the Novotel in Lami, saying that the review and validation of the Service Delivery Protocol is a significant step in preventing and responding to violence.

She says that gender-based violence is complex, often hidden, and deeply rooted in unequal power relations, and that coordinated, evidence-based responses are essential to saving lives and supporting recovery.

The Minister says that the revision of the Service Delivery Protocol strengthens referral pathways, clarifies accountability, and enhances communication between agencies.

She reassured that, to support this revision process, the ministry convened an intensive workshop, bringing together representatives from the government, civil society, UNFPA agencies, service providers, Online Safety Commission, Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission.
