More than 2,400 residents in Savusavu, businesses, and tourism operators in and surrounding communities will directly benefit from the upgrading of the Vunikoka Water Pump Station and a new Customer Service Office.

While commissioning the projects, Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport, Ro Filipe Tuisawau says these projects are an important investment for the people of Savusavu and surrounding villages, ensuring improved, reliable access to safe, clean water and better customer service.

The $1.4 million Government-funded upgrade includes a new pump house and customer service facility for the Water Authority of Fiji.

The upgraded pump station will strengthen water supply to Savusavu town and surrounding communities.

The new Customer Service Office will bring greater convenience to residents of Savusavu and the broader Cakaudrove Province, making it simpler to pay bills, lodge requests, and access other WAF services.

Ro Filipe says the upgrade aligns with the Water Sector Strategy 2050, which focuses on building resilient infrastructure to meet Fiji’s future water and sanitation needs.
