Savusavu Women’s confident of providing challenge despite starting training last week

Savusavu Women’s Rugby 7s team coach Ana Seru says despite just starting training last week, she is confident her team will provide a challenge for other teams in the McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s women’s division tomorrow.

She says they are working on some basic skills and some weaknesses in order to help them produce results.

Seru says there is not much change in the team this year with majority of the squad were from last year and only two new inclusion in the squad for this tournament.

The coach says this tournament is an eye opener for most of her girls in the team and also a great opportunity to expose their talents.

She adds she hopes that some of them get selected into the national 7s training squad.

The Savusavu Women’s team is pooled with Police, Seahawks and Navosa Women’s Rugby in the newly amended pools released a few days ago.

The Coral Coast 7s tournament kicks off tomorrow with the Savusavu Women’s team taking on Police women’s team at 9.30am in their first pool game at Lawaqa Park ground 1.

The entry fee will be free of charge for the whole 3 days of the tournament.
