The Head of the Technical and Support Secretariat for the National Council For Building A Better Fiji John Samy has today said that he told the Interim Prime Minister that he thinks the 2006 military takeover was illegal.
While speaking at the Prime Minister’s Mini Economic Summit at the Tradewinds, Samy said he has never supported any military takeover because it's illegal, and this is the same stand he took back in 1987.
However, Samy said he wanted to see Fiji recover from the effects of not only the 2006 coup, but the 1987 coup which is where the origin of the problems faced by our economy started, and the People's Charter is the only solution to get Fiji out of trouble.
