Rihanna music video to be shelved by Fiji TV
Fiji Television Limited has today confirmed that the video clip "Te Amo" featuring Rihanna will no longer be broadcast on it's free-to-air channel, Fiji One.

Fiji TV Group CEO, Tarun Patel said he concurs with Education Minister, Filipe Bole's statement that this particular video clip may not be suitable for General Audience.

The station's Manager Programming, Tukaha Mua also said the Programming Unit is tightening up it's screening processes to ensure that younger viewers of Fiji One will be respected.

Earlier today Education Minister, Filipe Bole called on relevant authorities to take tougher censorship measures on Fiji One's shows, in particular, the "Groove Thang".

Bole said one has to watch Rihanna's video clip last Saturday and see how a media organisation could go to by showing the nation raunchy scenes that make one's stomach cringe with disgust.

The Minister said children as young as class 1 love to watch the program because they love the singing part.

He said to expose them to adult-rated clips is no less than showing pornographic materials to them.

Bole also said for quite some time, video clips by pop stars have shown nothing but exploitation of women, indecent exposure, and debasement of language and degradation of moral values.
