Resurrection Sunday symbolises new beginning for families suffering from COVID-19 – Rev Ilaisa Naivalu
General Secretary of Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Ilaisa Naivalu

Resurrection Sunday symbolises a new beginning for families that have been severely impacted by COVID-19 and the recent cyclones.

The General Secretary of Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Ilaisa Naivalu says with hundreds of thousands of Fijians being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and then the struggles brought by the recent cyclones, people tend to forget that God is still by their side.

Rev Naivalu says when Jesus was resurrected from the dead, he appeared to 500 people and this is evidence that his death could not hold him down.

He says the message of resurrection should be a beacon of hope to those Fijians who have been severely affected by the recent cyclones and a reminder that God is with them through thick and thin.

He adds life might pull a person down but through their trust in God, everything is possible.
