The Water Authority of Fiji says that replacement works on the collapsed wastewater pipeline at the 4 miles bridge along Kings Road is nearing completion.

WAF says that replacement works were challenging due to the conditions of the repair site and the teams have been working around the clock.

They say a large amount of time was spent to safely navigate between buried utility services which are laid above the wastewater trunk main.

They are thankful to the support and guidance of the teams from the Fiji Roads Authority, Telecom Fiji Limited and Energy Fiji Limited in assisting their team to safely replace the wastewater pipeline.

The repair site has been handed over to the FRA for backfilling and reinstating of the road.

The FRA will make further announcements on the reopening of the road once their work is completed.

Motorists are advised that the Suva and Nausori bound lanes are still closed.
