The reconstruction of the destroyed Vale ni Bose formerly know as the Great Council of Chiefs building at Queen Elizabeth Drive is currently underway following a tender process which saw Pacific Building Solutions selected to handle the reconstruction process.

The first stage of the reconstruction began yesterday as contractors have moved on-site for demolition work.

The demolition works include the removal of any last remnants of the foundations and building systems of the former Vale ni Bose.

Considerable work has been underway to prepare the site for construction.

The first structural concrete work is expected to begin in June this year while the project is on schedule to be completed in 2025.

The building was destroyed in a fire in December 2019, and it was later confirmed that the fire started from a lit mosquito coil.
