Ratu Naiqama calls on RSMS alumni to invest in future leaders of the nation

President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has called on the Ratu Sukuna Memorial School alumni to give back to the school and invest in the next generation of leaders.

Ratu Naiqama led a momentous celebration marking the 65th anniversary of RSMS at Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva.

He says every alumni community has the opportunity to give back to the school that formed part of their secondary education, and continue their dialogue, networking, and partnerships to create opportunities for the school and its students.

RSMS was founded in 1960 by a resolution of the Bose Levu Vakaturaga to serve as a lasting tribute to his visionary leadership and dedication to the Vanua and the nation.

The event also honoured the life and legacy of Ratu Sir Josefa Lalabalavu Vanayaliyali Sukuna, one of Fiji’s most revered statesmen.

Ratu Naiqama says to remember his legacy, his achievements, and renew once again the commitment to his vision that lives in the school and everyone who have come through its halls.

The celebration began with a traditional welcome ceremony, performed by students and alumni, followed by a special meke choreographed in honor of the school’s Blue Sapphire (65th) Anniversary.

What began as an institution for iTaukei students, RSMS has since grown into a multi-ethnic centre of learning, producing leaders and professionals who have contributed to the Vanua, the Matanitu, and the Lotu both in Fiji and abroad.
