Rape accused fails to appear in court for the second time, case adjourned to Thursday

The man who allegedly raped a girl at a shortcut in Nasinu while she was on her way to school in June 2022 has failed to appear in the Suva High Court for the second time as his case was called today.

Nemani Sauturaga did not appear in court as he was remanded in Lautoka for another matter.

Arrangements have been made for a production order so that Sauturaga can be transported from the Lautoka Remand Centre to the Suva Remand Centre and attend his next court hearing.

The case has been adjourned to this Thursday, 16th January, 2025.
