Ram Naumi celebration teaches community members basic moral values

A Ramayan Mandali from Narere, Nasinu took the opportunity during Ram Naumi celebrations to teach community members basic moral values and in particular, respecting elders and women.

Upendra Goundar of Om Shiv Shakti Ramayan Mandali says they have noticed that people do not respect their elders.

He says they have stressed on the teachings of Lord Rama who had respect for everyone.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Hindus gathered at the Nasese seawall just after midday today to bring Ram Naumi celebrations to a colourful end.

Members of several Ramayan Mandalis around the country marked the birth of Lord Rama with daily preaching for the last eight days.
