Rainibogi wins 109kg category title at the 2024 OWF Elite Invitational International Tournament

Fiji’s top weightlifter Taniela Rainibogi continues his outstanding performance on the world stage after claiming the 109kg category title at the 2024 OWF Elite Invitational International Tournament in Hawthorn, Melbourne over the weekend.

Rainibogi also snatched 165 and clean and jerked 205, however in his final snatch, he attempted to break his own Commonwealth and Oceania record of 170kg in a 171kg attempt but narrowly missed it.

He also attempted to break his own Oceania and Commonwealth clean and jerk record of 210kg by attempting 211kg but also missed it.

Rainibogi and Weightlifting Fiji acknowledged the support they continue to receive from their sponsors and supporters which enables them to travel and compete internationally.
