A cheeky raccoon caused a late-night stir in Hanover County, USA, after it broke into a liquor store, helped itself to a boozy feast, and passed out next to the toilet.

According to TV News, the furry bandit reportedly crashed through a ceiling tile in the early hours heading straight for the bottom shelf where scotch and whisky were stored.

Local animal control officer Samantha Martin, who responded to the incident, says she could not help but laugh adding he went on a full-blown rampage, drinking everything.

The raccoon was safely taken back to an animal shelter.

According to the Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter, the raccoon sobered up after a few hours of sleep and showed no injuries except perhaps a hangover and regret.
