RKS Head Boy charged with assaulting student pleads guilty

The Head Boy of Ratu Kadavulevu School has pleaded guilty in his first court appearance after being charged with assaulting a 17 year old student at the school.

Police say the Head Boy had questioned another student regarding a case of theft in school, and then used a bamboo stick to hit the victim which caused bruises.

They say the 17 year old student was medically examined and bruises were visible on the buttocks, leg and slightly on his head.

The Head Boy appeared before Tailevu Resident Magistrate Pita Katia.

He has been bailed with a surety and a $200 bail bond.

The bail condition include that he should not re-offend and he is not to interfere with witnesses.

The matter has been adjourned to 10th March, 2025 for sentencing.
