Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho

Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has ordered for an urgent investigation into an alleged police brutality case involving a Lautoka internet outlet owner.

Qiliho says the man is currently admitted in hospital and has alleged that some police officers assaulted him over the weekend.

There is no confirmation at this stage on whether police officers were involved in this incident.

Qiliho confirms that the same man met with him last week regarding information about some people trying to destablise the government.

Qiliho says he has been holding briefings with police officers in different divisions to ensure that they are always following the procedures set out for the police.
