Acting Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho.

Acting Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has directed his team to investigate the compliant of a 53-year-old domestic violence victim who claims that initial calls made to a police station in Nasinu earlier this month was not addressed by the officer concerned.

Speaking to Fijivillage from her Nasole home earlier this week, the woman who is a cancer survivor, said she is in urgent need of medical help after the domestic abuse by her defacto partner.

The woman says she is happy that the Police finally took action on Sunday and removed the man from the house.

She says her defacto partner had beaten her up with an old stand fan and electrical wires, and she has visible injuries on her body. He had also locked her up in the house.

The torture and abuse started on January 2nd and lasted for more than 5 days.

There are also claims that calls were made to a police station and they were told that no one was able to help at the time as there was no one at the station.

Qiliho says he will ensure that these incidents do not happen again.
