Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase may not be allowed to leave Fiji when he returns from Australia within the next few days.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said this matter has to be looked at after Qarase spoke at SDL fundraising meetings in Australia although he told the court that he wanted to go and see his children and grandchildren.
While speaking to Radio Australia, Commodore Bainimarama had stressed that he did not conduct a military coup in December 2006.
Bainimarama said people need to understand what is happening in Fiji and the military is protecting the people of the country.
Bainimarama also said Fiji will return to democratic rule, but he will not give any timetable.
