Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad supports Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s call to government officials not to have kalavata (matching traditional outfits) most of the time.

While speaking to fijivillage News in Parliament today, Professor Prasad says the Prime Minister was right in raising this issue as they need to cut costs on things that are unnecessary or deemed to be unnecessary.

He says they usually have a budget for workshops and conferences and it is up to the individual Ministries on the allocation of their funds for different activities.

He adds look for ways to try and address it as it has been raised by the Prime Minister himself.
