A prison officer has pleaded guilty to one count of contraband unlawful entry of prohibited articles and one count of unlawful possession of drugs in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Mikaele Watta was charged for passing articles which include a deodorant, one mobile, mobile chargers, one bottle tattoo ink, radio motor, a clear plastic containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana and another plastic containing 40 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana to a prisoner.
The incident occurred on the 5th of this month.
Magistrate Deepika Prakash will deliver her sentence on Thursday.
