There are positive signs for Fiji as Commonwealth Secretary General, Don McKinnon has confirmed that he is expected to start engaging in talks with Commodore Bainimarama from next week to assist in bringing Fiji back to democracy.
Speaking to Village News, McKinnon said he had a good one on one discussion with Fiji's Interim Prime Minister in Tonga and they will continue to hold dialogue to assist Fiji.
McKinnon has also revealed that although the Commonwealth's deadline is for Fiji to try to have elections by the end of next year, the time frame could be extended following a satisfactory explanation from Bainimarama.
