Police work with NFA  to establish cause of fire resulting in death of 5yr-old

Police and National Fire Authority officers are now trying to establish the cause of the fire at Tuatua Housing in Labasa which resulted in the death of a five year old boy.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirms that five year old Shaiyaz Ali passed away due to severe burns.

A 3-year-old girl and a 45-year-old woman are also admitted in critical condition at the Labasa Hospital.

National Fire Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, John O’Connor confirms that they received a call at about 3.40am.

O’Connor says the house was engulfed in flames when the  firefighters arrived at the scene.

He says they have been told that three people were rushed to the hospital.
