Police will not tolerate students loitering in town after 6pm during school days

The Fiji Police Force will not tolerate students loitering in town after 6pm during school days especially while most schools  have interhouse games going on.

This was stressed by Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Maretino Qiolevu.

Qiolevu says they are closely monitoring the issue and they will take in students for questioning without hesitation if they are seen in town after 6pm in school uniform.

He adds that students should neither be found anywhere in town after 6pm nor spotted around any bean cart areas as they have also received reports that students smoke along this areas.

Qiolevu adds they are improving their consistency on the matter and any student or anyone at the bean cart area at the Suva bus stand is spotted smoking or buying and selling loose cigarette rolls will be taken to task.

He says that the penalty for selling loose rolls remains and they will be assisting in areas where enforcement is needed.

The bean cart area at the Suva bus stand is registered as a non smoking zone.

Qiolevu says police will also monitor the behavior of students while reacting to results of the interhouse and zone games in the lead up to the Coca-cola games.
