The Fiji Police Force is warning members of the public not to point laser lights at aircraft, as it puts the lives of all those on board at risk.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu issued the warning regarding concerns raised during a meeting with the Civil Aviation Authorities.

ACP Driu says the authorities are seriously concerned about the deliberate and improper use of laser pointers near the vicinity of airports.

He says pointing laser lights at the aircraft endangers everyone on board the aircraft and is calling on anyone who sees this dangerous practice to call their nearest police station, on 917 or Crime Stoppers on 919.
