Police urge public to stay vigilant against digital impersonation

The Police Force is urging members of the public to disregard any communication from a police officer, requiring the sharing of personal information, particularly via messaging platforms.

Police have stated that officers will not reach out via Viber, WhatsApp, Messenger, email or any other messaging platforms, asking for personal information such as your PIN, One Time Password (OTP), or share links requiring people to share or download.

They are also requesting members to not click on links or download attachments from unknown numbers using the Police logo.

Members of the public can verify information by calling the National Police Command Centre on 9905 296.
