Police will start enforcing the law from this week to ensure that nightclub operators do not allow minors into the nightclubs.
Spokesperson, Theresa Ralogaivau said during their operation, they have noticed the ongoing problem of minors or people under the age of 18 allowed into the nightclubs and also being served alcohol.
Last Saturday night and early yesterday morning, a number of drunk students were also seen roaming the streets of the capital city.
Ralogaivau said the police have already started going inside the nightclubs to check if minors are inside.
Meanwhile police are expected to meet with a Suva nightclub owner after minors were found to be consuming alcohol in his club.
The owner has been warned and is expected to meet with police this week.
All nightclub owners have been told to close their bars at 4.30am, to ensure their doors close at 5am and to ask for ID from people they suspect are minors.
