Rakiraki Police are continuing their search for a six year old child who went missing while he was swimming with other children late yesterday afternoon.

The child from Dawa Settlement went missing while swimming in the Dawa River.

A search was conducted until nightfall but was negative.

The search continues with villagers from Dawa Settlement today.

Meanwhile a 2-year-old boy of Nakama, Labasa is believed to have drowned on Monday afternoon.

Police say the child was with his grandmother at their home before he disappeared.

The boy's body was later found floating in the Nakama River by a teacher.

Their house is next to the Nakama River.

The drowning death toll currently stands at 11 compared to 12 for the same period last year.
