Police exhumed the body of a 7-year-old girl in Tavua yesterday after she was buried without a death certificate issued by the Ministry of Health.
Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the child allegedly died late last month after a short illness.
She says the girl's parents buried her without a death certificate issued by health authorities and she was never taken to the hospital.
Naisoro says a report was lodged earlier this month.
She adds the post mortem examination was conducted yesterday and investigations continue.
