Police confirm Labasa father threw 4 of his children into river
Labasa River

Police have now confirmed that the father in Labasa allegedly threw his four children in the Labasa River last night before jumping into the river.

Spokesperson Jokatama Qio says the search for the father, his daughter and son continues in the Labasa River.

Police recovered the body of a 3-year-old boy from the Labasa river this morning.

They confirm that it is the body of one of the three children that were reported missing with their father.

The eldest child who is a 10-year-old was the only one who managed to swim to safety after he was allegedly thrown into the river last night.

Police are yet to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

It is alleged that the man was having relationship problems and decided to take this step.
