Police Officers monitor people who isolate at home

Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says verifying claims by the public that a person who should be isolated at home is moving around the community is difficult to be established because of public perception.

While responding to a question on how the Ministry is monitoring people who home isolate and those who should home isolate are seen moving around the community, Dr Fong says they have received a few reports about this and when they tried to verify them, they couldn’t because in some instances the people moving around are not positive themselves.

He says they might have been contacts of contacts who were reported to be a positive person moving around.

The Permanent Secretary says people who are told to isolate themselves at home is being monitored by Police officers or military personnel and the medical team visits them two to three times a day for their assessment.
