Player welfare is secret to Malolo’s success - Tuilawa

From Vodafone Vanua Cup finalists last year to being Skipper Cup finalists this year, Malolo Rugby Union President Ratu Jone Tuilawa says their strategy hinged on a single, paramount principle — player welfare.

Tuilawa says that player welfare is not just about allowances, payments, or post-match gifts, it is about ensuring players are well cared for in every aspect of their time in camp.

The Union President says at the moment, there are three administrators within Malolo Rugby Union strategizing ways to improve the team, but also, at the same time, they are looked after from week one to this week heading into the finals.

According to Tuilawa their main weapon this season has been a holistic approach to player support.

Tuilawa says throughout the 2025 Skipper Cup season, they have consistently caused upsets, proving their place among Fiji’s rugby elite.

The 2025 Skipper Cup Final between Malolo and Naitasiri kicks off at 3pm tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.
