Play your part to ensure that the Great Council of Chiefs sits.
Those are the words of the Interim Prime Minister after comments from a number of provincial councils that they have rejected the new GCC promulgation.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama said it is now up to the Bose Vanua of all the provinces to nominate their members to the GCC as that will depend on whether the GCC meeting will go ahead.
Commodore Bainimarama also stresses that it is not the job or the responsibility of the provincial councils to accept or reject the GCC promulgation as the councils are statutory bodies and are an arm of the government.
