People are being requested to provide urgent assistance to the Greater Good Foundation who are facing imminent closure due to lack of funding.

The Foundation which has been rescuing dogs for the last 8 years and is currently sheltering over 200 dogs only have enough funds to last them 3 more weeks.

Shelter Manager Maleeka Ghazala says they are confronted by starving, injured and abused dogs every day and they also provide food, vet treatment and sterilization for hundreds more living on the streets.

Ghazala says they urgently need support to continue this work.

She says they have operated with community support for 8 years until funds dried up due to COVID-19 and if their doors were to shut down, the 200 dogs would have nowhere to go.

Ghazala says it costs around $20 per day to feed and care for each dog at the shelter and they need donations.

If you want to donate towards a worthy cause, you can transfer the funds on Westpac Bank account number 9807-0836-30 or send the money via Mpaisa on 8640200.
