People pay their respect to the late Ratu Epeli Ganilau

Fijians came out in numbers this morning to pay their last respect and farewell former Commander of the Republic of the Military Forces and Great Council of Chiefs Chairman Ratu Epeli Gavidi Ganilau

Fijians came out in numbers this morning to pay their last respect and farewell former Commander of the Republic of the Military Forces and Great Council of Chiefs Chairman Ratu Epeli Gavidi Ganilau during a funeral procession from Brown Street to the RFMF Barracks in Nabua.

The funeral procession was followed by a farewell church service held at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.

Commander of the RFMF Major General Jone Kalouniwai, former Prime Minister and RFMF Commander Voreqe Bainimarama, former Commander and FijiFirst MP Viliame Naupoto, former Speaker Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere were part of the church service.

Ratu Epeli will be laid to rest at his chiefly village in Vuniduva, Somosomo in Taveuni on Friday.

Ratu Epeli passed away last Tuesday.
