Over 140 people in Taiperia Settlement and Wainividio Village in Navua were assisted with a month’s worth of grocery packs from the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji, Make A Difference Fiji and Bula Broads.

This is a collaborated effort to help the people in the interior of Navua.

The organisation also handed over t-shirts to the men and sanitary pads for the women.

Meanwhile, the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Development Program that will enable them to access the UNDP’s technical support that will further strengthen and broaden the Foundation’s on-going initiatives such as developing an online medical record system for more effective treatment of patients in rural Fiji, increasing the knowledge base of Pediatric Cardiology in Fiji and the Pacific, expand the Foundation’s national feeding project for the poor and needy, and rural outreach medical project, among several other initiatives.

Sai Prema Foundation Fiji Director Sumeet Tappoo says they are delighted to be allowed to collaborate with UNDP in working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through their various programs, initiatives and projects.

He says the Foundation is committed to serving the underprivileged and needy people of Fiji and making a difference to their lives and this partnership will further assist them in achieving what they have envisioned.
