Finance Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said there are many people in Fiji who are in the informal sector and not counted in the mainstream economy.

While speaking at the Young Entrepreneurs Council in Nadi, Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted that they are thinking of formalising the people in the informal sector without making the process difficult.

Meanwhile, Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed that they will soon be announcing the setup of a National body which looks into how much assistance an individual or a group need for their businesses.

He said various Ministries currently have some form of incentive or programs of promoting entrepreneurship and sometimes there are duplication.

Sayed-Khaiyum said the setting up of a National body will address all the issues for a person or groups who need assistance.
