People in low lying areas urged to take precaution
The Nadi Weather Office is calling on people living in low lying coastal areas to be on alert this morning as high waves are expected in the next hour.

The duty forecaster said a high pressure system to the far southwest is seeing southeastern winds over the group and this is resulting in high waves.

With the high tide expected in the next hour, low lying coastal areas such as Southern Viti Levu, Kadavu and Yasawa along with the Mamanuca and Lau and Lomaiviti Group are being advised to brace themselves for high tides.

Meanwhile yesterday huge waves experienced along the Coral Coast this morning affected some hotels.
