Participating in more local 7s competitions will surely help the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s players gauge their performances and improve on the areas they lacked while participating in the World 7s Series.

This was highlighted by Fiji 7s Assistant Coach Viliame Satala after coaching the Fiji Babas side to victory at the Fiji Bitter Yalovata 7s tournament in Ovalau.

Satala says playing against the local teams as well gives the players a lot of competition especially playing against a lot of talented local players.

He says it also helps the coaches discover new talents and pick out areas that the players need to work on so they can be at the required level of standard to represent Fiji on the international stage.

Satala adds the players who played for the Fiji Babas side at the Yalovata 7s tournament are comprised of players who played at the Pacific Games and also those who did not play in the first leg of the 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS World Series.

The second leg of the HSBC SVNS will be from the 26th to the 28th of this month in Perth.
