Parents of 212,017 students have so far been paid around $42.9 million for the Back to School Support for the 2025 school year.

The Ministry of Finance says those parents who had not received their children’s Back to School Support in the first batch (paid before scheduled date) had issues with their applications including incorrect/unregistered mobile numbers, wrong birth registration numbers or other incorrect/incomplete information in their application forms or were awaiting Year 13 enrollment.

This comes as some parents have raised concerns that they have not been given the assistance despite being in the third week of the school term.

The Ministry says they have been working with the Ministry of Education to assist these parents, where possible.

They say since then, they have made additional 4 batches of payment for those that had issues with their applications and a final batch will be paid after the final applications are sorted out.
