Pacific Sun draws up policy to take in more local pilots
Fiji’s domestic airline Pacific Sun is drawing up a policy to take in more local pilots and set up a clear career path and progression plan for incoming pilots.

Pacific Sun general manager Shaenaz Voss said they have a technical crew of 55 at the moment who fly their three Twin Otters and two ATRs.

However, the next approach will result in the most experienced at the top level given an opportunity to go to Air Pacific to fly jets and the intake starting with the new pilots starting for the Twin Otters.

Voss said at least six new pilots will go into full training in the next few weeks.

Voss said they will take more local pilots by the end of this year.
