He was greeted by RFMF Commander, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai.

He then had a meeting with the Commander and senior army officers.

Rabuka, Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua and Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Mason Smith are part of the government delegation.

They then went to the Republic of Fiji Navy Headquarters in Walu Bay.

The Prime Minister was greeted by Navy Commander, Commodore Humphrey Tawake and his senior officers.

Rabuka was also shown the equipment the Navy team use during their rescue operations.

Major General Kalouniwai earlier confirmed to fijivillage News that the RFMF had extended an invitation for an official visit of the Prime Minister.

He says the Prime Minister will be accorded the normal protocols with the Honour Guards, the organisation briefs at the Strategic Headquarters, Navy Headquarters and at the Land Forces Headquarters at Queen Elizabeth Barracks.

This will be followed by a traditional welcome ceremony and then lunch at the Officer's Mess.

Tikoduadua confirms the government ministers will also be joining the Prime Minister at the function at QEB.

The RFMF says the Prime Minister’s official visit to the RFMF sets a platform for discussions on activities related to national security, military preparedness, and strategic initiatives.

The RFMF says the visit will foster a stronger understanding between the government and RFMF while highlighting the collaborative efforts towards the nation's security and well-being of Fiji and all Fijians.
