More than 427,000 new e-transport cards have been issued to commuters across Fiji.

Vodafone Fiji says this marks a major milestone in its efforts to modernize public transportation.

The company says that since the launch, more than 321,000 of these cards have already been used at least once to pay fares, indicating strong public acceptance of the modern, efficient system.

On average, the system processes around 125,000 unique card transactions daily, with an impressive 99.5 percent of commuters actively using their new cards.

Vodafone says this shift is helping Fijians enjoy greater convenience, speed, and transparency in public transport payments.

They say that the new e-transport app is also gaining popularity, with over 100,000 downloads recorded so far.

The company says that approximately 20 percent of all top-ups and redeem transactions are now made through the app, highlighting how commuters are embracing digital convenience.

Vodafone notes that although the adoption rate is high, more than 100,000 issued cards remain unused for fare payments, likely belonging to occasional travelers.

The company is encouraging these cardholders to start using their cards to experience the benefits firsthand.

Vodafone also says that its Customer Care team has reached out to approximately 700 customers still using old E-Transport cards to assist them in upgrading to the new system.
