Over 1,000 marijuana plants uprooted
The Police Drug Unit along with the Ready Action Force has uprooted more than 1,000 marijuana plants and has conducted numerous raids around the country in a special operation which started on the 15th of this month.

The operation named the “Dromunisiga” operation has seen close to 1,040 plants which are believed to be marijuana uprooted from various farms in Navosa and a number of people have also been questioned.

The latest raid was conducted at a house in Rewa Street last night where Police officers confiscated large sum of dried leaves and 38 pot plants believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed a number of assorted items were also confiscated from the house.

The owner of the house is currently being questioned by Police.

Operation Dromunisiga is also targeting those involved in marijuana paddling.
