The biggest night in film is under way and Hollywood's biggest stars are in Los Angeles for the Oscars.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph is the first winner for the night, scooping the award for best supporting actress for her role in The Holdovers.

War is Over wins the Animated Short Film category, while The Boy and the Heron scoops the Animated Feature Film award.

The favourite for best picture is Oppenheimer, which has 13 nominations and could become one of the biggest winners of all time.

Its star Cillian Murphy is the man to beat for best actor - while Lily Gladstone could become the first ever Native American to win best actress for Killers of the Flower Moon.

Also up for awards are Poor Things, Maestro, Anatomy of a Fall as well as last year's top grossing film – Barbie.

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the show, with Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer, Al Pacino and Michelle Yeoh among those up to present awards.
